Got clean removal of those two 3 screw Phoenix Connecters. Cut them off with a Dremel cutting wheel, the leads pulled straight out with heat from the iron, then the Hakko desoldering gun cleared the through hole.
In the meantime I'm starting mock up of the wiring to the power switch and meters on the intermediate plate. New cords and connecters are ordered. Listening to Bachman Turner Overdrive while I work.
Takin care of business...

I almost wish it was like a 400 and had no switch. Sure would simply things. Oh well, it'll be left on and switched by a power strip.

We just run the 10-2 off the circuit breaker to to the transformer. (Oxygen free cryo treated wire nuts of course)

George I built a 700 once where I brought the AC in just below the terminal strip..
Well, I do have about 40 feet of old arc welding cable left over from the last set of jumper cables I made! I'd have to do some major rewiring of the house, wife Would Not be happy. Think I'd better stick with the standard layout with a switch. To tell the truth, my two 400 WOPLs don't often get a workout.
I agree that bringing the supply AC in by the transformer does make better sense doesn't it? Like a 400. Well, the 700 is what it is. A lot of extra work that could have been resolved with a taller chassis.

Those who enter the man cave will get WOPLed
It was completely random George, but it seems a majority of the hotties were made by Bob's stoner brother when he was the transformer winder...in the Ser I's...

Some Ser II's like Darcy's were 108...
108.7 at the old place, about 105 here as the mains voltage is lower.
