Yeah, I really enjoy BTO for casual listening while I'm doing something.
The Alps stepped pots do easily come apart for service. I'll spray Deoxit into a bottle cap and clean with wetted Q-tips, then grease with Fader Grease.

Both attenuators are rebuilt. The power switch lugs will take 14 AWG if it's flattened a little with pliers.

I almost wish it was like a 400 and had no switch. Sure would simply things. Oh well, it'll be left on and switched by a power strip.

George I built a 700 once where I brought the AC in just below the terminal strip..
 
We just run the 10-2 off the circuit breaker to to the transformer. (Oxygen free cryo treated wire nuts of course)

Well, I do have about 40 feet of old arc welding cable left over from the last set of jumper cables I made! I'd have to do some major rewiring of the house, wife Would Not be happy. Think I'd better stick with the standard layout with a switch. To tell the truth, my two 400 WOPLs don't often get a workout.
I agree that bringing the supply AC in by the transformer does make better sense doesn't it? Like a 400. Well, the 700 is what it is. A lot of extra work that could have been resolved with a taller chassis.

108.7 at the old place, about 105 here as the mains voltage is lower.
