Pulled a 400 series one out of storage and did my best measurement. Center to center 3 13/16.

Yep, I'll have the models in hand next week. Then, it's off to corpus Christi Thursday in the toyhauler to scatter my bro' s ashes. He wanted to go to Colorado but after the mess he left, he's lucky I didn't flush him in Nogales.

Despite what my amp measures, I concur, 3.75 should be the correct dimension.

According to Wikipedia it looks like the amp fits in a 3U rack spacing, which would leave the bolt spread at 3.75 inches center to center.

PL400 and 700 amps are 4U, not 3U

Damn, almost forgot, on my way out of town the other day, I stopped at the mail box and the prototypes (3d resin printed, high resolution) of the handles were there along with the CAD files. I put it in the back seat of the truck and forgot about them. I'll pull them out and get a pic posted (if they don't look like an abortion). I did have time to send out RFQ' s to a couple machine shops and am waiting to hear how bad it's going to hurt the wallet.

Yeah, they turned out pretty much what I expected. They are the same as the originals with only a small amount added around the base. I'll stick them to an amp when I get back from Texas next weekend.

OUCH, the first of my quotes came back...... $65 per handle......................... SON OF A BITCH................. If the others are close to that, this project is DUNN.......

It may be Better to dump this project and keep the cost of the development at $400

Next week will be the deal breaker when all the quotes are in. Had to try though. I may just get some proto's made for customers amps.

That was for the initial prototype quote of 50. I can probably get a smaller run. That was for Casting, I have 3 more quotes out, 2 for casting and 2 for CNC.

Damn, that seems like a lot of coin. Are these sand castings? You could make them yourself if you can melt aluminum. Sandcasting molds are easy
