Handles for 700's

Not bad at all... I think they turned out nice and since there are no handles available, and the ones that DO show up are iffy, these are a great option. The originals are cast and not at all straight. The handles I had CNC'd are a little different but look very nice on the different applications. They fit the 700B, and the Clair 700 series II's.

Can't wait to see if I can shoe horn them on the 400 :)

after measuring a couple hundred times, I am convinced that these handles WILL fit on a 400 (3.85 hole spacing) especially if the faceplate bolt holes are of the 5/16ths variety. I do believe they will also fit the 1/4 in holes but it will be tight. Being that I had the handles drilled and tapped at 10-32, there is enough play in the 700B (3.95 hole spacing) with a bit left over so the 400 should be fine. AND I beefed the base of them to cover the slopped out holes also.

OH, and of course they fit the Clair 700 Series II's as they were drilled for 700B handles.

Here it is folks Perry's 700 handles on a 400... looks great had to make just a few passes with a round file on top and bottom holes the handle holes are about 1/16" wider than the holes on the face place but the holes on the chassis are bigger so no need to do anything to them as you can see the base of the handles stick out on the edge of the face plate not quite 1/16" I guess the holes on a 700 face plate must be a bit further inbound. I could elongate the holes on the faceplate a bit to move the handles in so they would be flush with the faceplate edge but I'm think I wont bother as it looks fine to me

The LEAST i spent on the bay was 75, and I wasn't too impressed with those, the holes weren't right...sooooooo.....125 ain't bad....

We're the faceplate holes on your 400 1/4" or 5/16th's"???? I know some of our reproductions had both.

If I do another run of handles, I'm going to adjust them so they won't be at the edge of the faceplate. Although I have had a couple of 700B handles which got awfully close to the edge. I'm not sure how great PL tolerances were.

I would say 5/16... these look great you did a good job on these way beyond what I expected... I think if I were to ever sell that amp I would keep these handles :toothy5:

I could use my little motor boat dremal and elongate the holes to move the handles inboard a bit as there is plenty of meat on the handle to cover the hole but it is not an issue for me... when I went to the carver tech today I took it with me he had a bunch of TFMs and various Ts around and they are nice but when he saw my PL I think his eyes bulged a bit lol it put all those carvers to shame in appearance
