What other vintage favorites do you guys like?

SAE

I've always been agog at the SAE racked components. I was able to snag three pieces at the local thrift store for $5 each - preamplifier (P101), equalizer (E101) and tuner (T101). I don't know what the story was about all three components being dropped off, together, at the thrift store, but I'm glad I was there that day. I, already, had a 2100L from long ago. A short while ago, I bought a C-102 cassette deck, too. I don't know how far I will go with a dedicated SAE stack, but I'm fairly close to getting a complete set of the 01 Series.

Lee: In the Master Bedroom, I have three separate systems, which includes the SAE gear. I have another spare bedroom full of gear. I just picked up another piece, yesterday, for $25- a mint (1992) Pioneer VSX-511S 5.1 receiver. Tested it last night and it works perfectly.

Lots more downstairs that I plan to sell.

I know a guy in DesMoines that has a few racks of SAE stuff. He was fixin to start selling some of it. Wayyyyyyy more stuff in general than most of us have, even Nando...

Spencer: My local thrift stores have been very rewarding in acquiring vintage audio gear. Two days ago, I passed on a pair of big Sansui SP-X8700 speakers. They were gone by the following day and the asking price was $30 each.

I did a rough calculation on my consignment sales at Innovative Audio and it's over $10K CAD in the past seven years. And a lot of those early sales have doubled in value since then.

Thanks, Lee. I have my sights set for the next big purchase in Spring of 2022 - all from the original owner : Marantz Model 500 amplifier, Marantz Model 3300 preamplifier and Bose 901 Series 1 speakers.
