Not sure what's wrong but the job was clearly not well done!

Sorry to hear that - hopefully your seller has a return policy and you can send it back, maybe try another copy. Make sure the record is an authorized resissue sourced from the analog master tapes - for example a reissue from Sundazed.

I'm hearing light surface noise in all the quiet passages, but a nice pressing. it's not going to replace the UK copy.
 
I had forgotten all about King Crimson, which is understandable as I listened to them maily while doing 4-way windowpane....
