Guessing that the downside is that if you have to purchase energy from the grid, the KWhr rate is high. They usually go hand in hand, low emissions = high KWhr rate.

you guessed correctly...in louisiana current rates at .05 in winter.... and .10 in demand months ie summer...
here is about .25 last time i calculated...
the equivelant of public service agency goes over books every quarter...and elevates or lowers price ...depending on need of ice to maintain power...at that point in time...

well...here it is ....
hires lossless streaming....
i bought a usb c input dac / headphone amplifier with analog out....about 75 dollars...ifi uno from amazon...bought usb c to usb c cable with it ...plugged dac input into note 9 usb port...plugged dac output into preamp in...worked heads up...crystal clear and crisp...will experiment more tomorrow!!!
apple streams rhe highest resolution at present...only the phone app offers lossless streaming....but phone dac works bit is 6db down as it is the headphone jack...impediance mismatch and less quality than an external dac...for obvious reasons!!!...the external dac is plug n play and apple music detects it as lossless capable and shifts into the appropriate gear!!!
