Yes, that's the song. Hendrix made it popular but it was covered by lots of bands in the 60s and probably written by an obscure folkie in California in the early 60s. Hey Joe wikipedia

One thing about Wikipedia, you generally can find out a lot ,more than you were lookin for...i KNOW WAY MORE ABOUT "Hey Joe" than I did before!!
