Hehe, just scored a nice copy 45rpm of Yoko Ono's 'Walking on Thin Ice~ for John', lovely message on the back about her thoughts between her and John.
below is what a fan wrote on amazon's review site...
I became a Yoko fan in my early teens in the late 1970s. In 1981 when "Walking on Thin Ice" came out on 45, I bought it and I thought it was brilliant. I still do. You would think more John Lennon fans would have wanted to hear the record that he and Yoko were working on the night he was killed, but no, "Walking on Thin Ice" was never listened to or appreciated like it should have been. This was the era of the early New Order, Depeche Mode, OMD, and Pet Shop Boys records. You would think "Walking on Thin Ice" would have fit right in. Was it not marketed properly? Maybe. But I remember calling a radio station to request it in the 1980s, during the naivete of my high school years, and being told "This radio station plays no Yoko Ono whatsoever." Now "Walking on Thin Ice" has been remixed and reissued, bright shiny and new, for the millennial dance floor. All the remixes bring creative inspiration to the song while remaining true to Yoko Ono's classic release. It's as haunting and enchanting as ever. And am I the only person in the world who's ever counted how many times Yoko sings "Ice!" on the original 45? "Ice! Ice! Ice! Ice!" 128 times. That's the date John Lennon died, 12-8 of 1980.
