what are you listening to?

PS Not bad and pretty nice sounding for a 1982 TV.

Here's a pic:

PS I spent $15 total for the TV and second line amp and the amp works GREAT!

I like the avatar Steve =).

Yes - Close to the Edge - Australian Pressing - TD 160 Super - Audio Technica AT440MLa

Gave the 160 super a clean and polish today.

Good day in the audio den ... :happy3:

Listening to my copy of the Nandoplex, "Sonic Mayhem" compilation on Sony Metal Master.
What makes this listening occasion extra special is I received my Signet RCA jack cleaning tools and I gussied -up my interconnects.
Get's better though ... I'm auditioning this master tape through a new addition to the component rack, a slightly used Teac HA-501 headphone amp.
Man what a unit! My Ultrasone 650's never sound this amazing. It even makes my well-broken-in Sony MDR-V6's sound pretty phenomenal.
The gain and clarity of this thing spanks the living sh!t out of any on-board HP jack and lacks the coloration I'd grown accustomed to with my tube amp.
And the noise floor is beyond buried...

I've never tried a headphone amp. That Teac looks like a nice unit, Tony.

I have always wondered about headphone amps, as my Sony headphones (large over ear type) always sounded kind of under powered.

Never heard that one D2...

Great album, good sonics, Dutch Progressive Rock. These certain polydor records were hard to track properly with my previous cartridge, the 440 tracks everything with ease.

I'm having breakfast at Monas this morning and they have the radio playing pop music. Am I the only one that thinks all female pop singers sound the same?

Why is that do you suppose?
