I fondly remember Jet Records/CBS with ELO and Ozzy Osbourne. That's a great looking store, even if it's all French and stuff ;)

The upper loft of the store including the floor was filled with really great 60's and 70's titles on European labels. I made a couple of trips when I had free time away from the family.

Some old post-punk

Haven't posted to this thread for a while...

Soft Cell: Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing
1982 Sire / Some Bizarre 1-23694 Mastered at Sterling (Jack Skinner) Vinyl E++
Dancy stuff there, last track is the infamous "Sex Dwarf."

Wire: The Ideal Copy
1987 Enigma / Mute SWAO-73270 Mastered by Capitol, Pressed in Carrolton (don't know who cut the lacquers) Vinyl: bought STILL SEALED in December '15!
The first Wire album I ever heard, I was hopelessly hooked afterward. Love this band!

Wire: (Self Titled, 2015)
2015 Pink Flag PF22LP Mastered at Skye by Denis Blackham, Lacquers cut by Pete Norman at Finyl Tweak
As much as I absolutely love this band, this record is a sore disappointment. It's too "mainstream pop" for my liking. Although it's pop as only Wire can do, there's too muckin' futch of it. Both sides end with what sounds like a funeral dirge. And where's Graham Lewis? Not one song was sung by Graham! DISAPPOINTMENT!

includes a nice cover of Dylan's When I Paint My Masterpiece - always reminds me how much fun it was to explore the streets of Rome on a visit with family a few years ago:

Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble,
Ancient footprints are everywhere.
You can almost think that you're seein' double
On a cold, dark night on the Spanish Stairs.

Mannfred Mann's Earth Band - s/t

Produced By George Martin. RIP George Martin. Thanks for your guidance and impact on the Beatles and, by extension, helping redefine popular music.

My cassette copy of her second GH album got chewed :(

As for CTA, I proudly owned a somewhat worn secondhand LP copy a friend gave me over 35 years ago. I've decided over the years that as much as I love Colour My World, Questions 67 And 68 is my favorite Chicago song.

Steven,

Once I get my shit together with incoming equipment and hook it up correctly I would be happy to record LR GH 2 for you. I haven't recorded with my cassette yet - guess it's time to try once I get hooked up.

It is a nice listen.

That can't be more than 45 minutes long, can it?

I can send you a couple blanks for your trouble later on, I'm tapped for this one, paid for everything I had to and most importantly, Charmin moved in and I can do the paperwork.

You use the Phoenix Chrome yourself, I've got mine and maybe EIGHT Metal LE 60s left as well as Web's Sony Metal XR 60s. I also have immense amounts of my Fujis or XLII or even Communicators and TDK D to use for my donor and as Nando will soon report, just over 50 less really nice tapes from my stash of hundreds.

If I'm fortunate I still have the original Jcard too!

I should have a new tape or two laying around doing nothing so no problem - just a matter of when I get around to it.

It is one of my fav's...don't mind sharing and honing my recording skills.

Album time is only 34:51, that is truly Country music territory. I have one last Maxell Communicator Series C45 that would work, I don't mind. AND I still have your address, so there are a couple nice NOS blanks I can work in.

I have to pay my $5 pledge to OPB radio first! It just finally got here...but I've probably got something I can do for that this month and postage, I paid of all the rest.

part of a series of UK Polydor reissues in the mid 70s - austere cover art but all I've heard in the series have nice sound quality.
