Thanks but have to admit next on my wish list is a TD 160 S. Also thinking of throwing an AT 440MLA on the Dual - what do you think?
Ahh you like the Thorens TD 160 Super eh? Same here. Had mine for 11 years and don't feel the need to buy another TT. AT440MLa is an outstanding cartridge and hard to beat (for the price/performance ratio). They are a bit bright, but this tames a little after break in, or you can do it by changing the loading on the pre(is that the word for it??), I don't feel the need to do this as the 440 brings out treble lacking vinyl quite nicely. Very little sibilance, it walked all over my OM10. I have around 95 hours on the 440 so far. As for inner groove tracking, its the best cart I have heard. Its either as good as the V15 Type 3 or better, however the V15 is a more 'neutral' sounding cartridge and has the Jico SAS stylus option. The 440 Stylus is a Microline type and it has dual magnets which provides exceptional separation. I'll hang onto the 440 for a very long time. The V15 I heard was on another system with Jico SAS, it sounded nice too and I hope to buy one to test as well but they aren't as easy to find and are much more expensive once you factor in the Jico Stylus.
