Man, this is a kickass album. Never saw another one in shrink that has this hype sticker about touring with Traffic. The guitar player Junior Kerr is killer, not technical but man, his phase/wah work is so funky and cool

The Troggs: Wild Thing
Was a bit surprised to come across this on a reel, but digging it for sure. This is one that scared me. Went ahead and loaded it up with the crinkly tape on the end when I got it home but the tape broke when I hit play. Finally got some splicing tape I was waiting for, attached a good long leader, treated it gently and things are fine as can be. Still plenty of blank tape before the music starts.

Work that deck, Dave! How's that TEAC treating you?

Going great, won't be too long until I'm ready to send a reel back your way. I'm diggin how this sounds and it plays back your tape quite well so I think everything seems solid. Made a couple recordings I'm happy with, but I'd curious to see how tapes I'd make on here would travel.

Yay! Any particular tracks that you like best?
Tough call because I really do like everything on there. I like jazz quite a lot, hearing good new jazz stuff is always welcome, and since I do lean toward more lyrical jazz than the skronkier stuff this tape was perfect. The lead Houston Person track stood out to me. I'm gonna hafta pick up something by the guy soon. I had a listen to Houston Express online and liked that quite a lot, but am interested if you have recommendations.
