Lee: Studies have shown that most marriages last longest if the house you live in has two levels, or more. I think I know where you are right now... I'm downstairs, too.

I've always wanted to say something along these lines! Thanks Lee for breaking the ice here.
I was reading this thread when she came downstairs yappin about something she knows I have no interest in, hence the 'tude. Usually she's uber-cool, BUT, she is female....

I agree, bought that one new. Didn't think much of Stephen Stills' solo album after that. Trying to remember the name of that. It came out after he was popped....

Edit----"Southern Cross"?

Yeah, I think unfortunately Stills lost control of a hellacious Cocaine habit and his solo work and the CSN (and the "Stills-Young Band") work suffered after 1974 or so. It's sad because it sounds like he was a force of nature in the studio up to that point and an incredible musician who played just about all the instruments - as we can see from the work he did with Buffalo Springfield and on CSN's first record and the two Manassas LPs. I think he used to spend lots of time jamming all night with his friend Jimi Hendrix. The Hendrix release last year, People, Hell and Angels has at least one track with Stills on bass. I wonder how much interesting material is yet to be released from these guys - Stills, Hendrix, Neil Young..? We know that they basically lived in the studio and kept the tape reels turning all the time...hope some of it comes out soon!

SLF, in your opinion were the Japanese good at mastering?? In general??
In my limited experience - some of the best sounding mastering and pressings are Japanese. Incredible detail and super nice quality vinyl.

And JPN pressings generally have a great reputation BUT it sounds like it's not a hard rule. There are bad JPN pressings, just like there are bad and good UK/German/US LP masterings, CD masterings, etc...

Someone has to keep you in check. You know it's not going to be us. Will you be posting info on your latest open-reel deck?

Hey Nando,

Gonna try and get some posts of recent scores and tunes played later today or tomorrow. BubbaH is trying to get me in trouble, too. Talking about getting me a great price on a new cart- you are all enablers and I appreciate each and every one of you for that!
