The Acurus LS-11 Performance Test And Review

I like noise levels like that - inaudible. Since it has no phono section, do you not bother with vinyl or do you use an outboard pre with this Acurus? Maybe a different pre all together?

Could be wrong, but specs I recall were numbers published while using phono inputs. I guess since the proliferation of line level jobs, pre-amp noise floors dropped like a stone.

Can't get no table for my records
Ain't got no needle for my grooves,
Ain't got that fancy spec,
On my new pre-amp
Ain't got no antidote for you....

yOUR WHAT hILLBILLY?? yOUR aCURUS?? That one you found for 250.00??
No.... The one YOU found me for 250 .... He called today and I missed his call... To late to cal back once I saw the call... He knows I want it !!!!

We find you one Sutton !!!! But I'm going to buy it and let you have it for what it cost me... Don't want you trying to Jew him down and lose it ! I know..... You can't help it !!!!!

I am not that bad Kevin.

I just want to pay the least I can, so I can get more stuff...

Where did you find one anyway.

I didn't know anything sold on the internet without me knowing about it. You must have gotten it the old fashion way, without the internet knowing about it..plus, I know you deal with people like me all day long at work..

As someone told me, consumers now know as much, if not more, about an item than the people selling it. With so much information available, it's tough. Hell, I even know the average selling price for that preamp.

It is 293.00........

I've been remiss in posting lately (Lee now knows why) but the test results of this preamplifier are amazing. Joe has done the ear test of time and now Lee has tested it with his Audio Precision Analyzer. Joe mentioned that the preamp acts like a straight wire vice a preamp and now Lee has the numbers to show this. Cool stuff.

I'll put it in rotation tomorrow. I wanted to do the listening test on the lottery amp on what I was used to, but that's overwith....now I can play...

That'd an unweighted spec. See if the Perreaux is weighted
.

(unweighted).......-100dB re rated inputs
(A weighted)........-108dB re rated inputs

Channel Separation All inputs..................................68dB 20Hz-20kHz

Distortion (THD and IMD) Phono inputs 0.005% 20Hz-20kHz rising to 0.01% before overload All others less than 0.0009% 20Hz-20kHz at rated output

Why is the A weighted figure lower Lee?

Because it only considers the audio spectrum that your ears are sensitive to. Applies a weighting factor that takes into account the typical human hearing sensitivity versus frequency.
