Lee have you checked the circuits before and after the selector? Or is it on all source positions? You can pull you grd.s one at a time. See what happens. Does it get louder when you crank the vol.? Only reason I'm typing this is because I will forget if I don't do it now. LOL While I'm thinking about it. LOL

NO!! What I've heard I really like. Just gotta get a handle on the hum and noise. Once IO get it lined out , I believe you'll like it.

Didn't count on the 3300 sounding so good did ya??

HUMMMMMMMMM

Lee I had a hum yesterday on the Carver. Tracked it down to the grd.s. So I started doing different ground hook ups. Till I got it quiet. No hum what so ever. I was freaking at first. Then I thought calm down. Do what you are use to doing. Find it and fix it. LOL

Now we are getting somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John Levreault has come to the rescue at the request of the Larrt. VAST as in MUCHO improvement!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not entirely gone on the phono section but the volume has to be past the 1-1/2 volt output range before it's noticeable. I am ever so relieved.

Listening to the SP-12 with an Onix CD-1 as source, and a Koss-K/4DS Digital Delay Amp, through the Pioneer SE-L40 headphones. DAMN GOOD~~~

Switched over to the horns. Onix CD-15 as source, SP-12 Pre,- and a new addition---An SAE 2300 power amp. Larrt----- with input selected as CD and pre and amp on at full volume, can't hear a thing out of the horns, now that's with both gain controls at max on the pre along with the volume on the pre maxed out.

The grounds were daisy chained, as in the instructions, he suggested a way to take them separately to the ground plane on the main PCB. Took all of ten minutes. Had to add three wires, one each from the gains and volume pot and eliminate the common coming from the selector switch. Sounds pretty damn good. If it survives this weekend it'll go out Monday or Tuesday. Workin on the 700 now, maybe I'll get it knocked out too. Sorry about the 7 month project Bud.
