SP 12 SE

You have to think maybe something or board is wired in reverse since they are left and right..mirror image? Have to go back and look at ur pics.

tread 35, seen the pic, the board is mirrior image, so the pots will be oppisite each other, one will turn cw and the other ccw for rise. they turn oppisite...say neg. is outside of board to reduce the gain, one on the right needs to go cw and the left needs to go ccw so there may be nothing wrong.

It only gets way far apart doing that. Ok, Thanks John. I've got some small projects to finish then I'll have it back on the bench in a couple days.

Tubes coming to me. 6922s right. How do I match for noise anyone. Can I do it with my tester? Got some NOS pretty cheap. Suppose to be nice tubes. Teslas and a russian made. Don't know the name. One quad set and 1 pair of Teslas.

Larry you need a transconductance tube tester like a hickok 532 or a 539, has the noise test probes..hickok were the best for testing transconductance and gain. loads the tube as if it was in the circuit. They are expensive if you can find one. regular testers only test for emissions and shorts. Some of the newer hickok testers near the 600s had eliminated the noise test like the 600 doesnt have the test, need a earlier model...

No, whoever put the components on the board was the problem-------Me.----------Have to hand it to Roy, I was wrong. I had put some resistors in the wrong place. I do know how to run a meter though Roy, that's how I figured I had the wrong values.
I had R1's MM value in for R1's MC value. Could cause excessive gain.
