Soniphase SL6

I finally ordered the stamped frame model jwoofers. These driverss will be staying in these cabinets, and the cabinets are tuned to something like 55 hz, so there is no need stressing about it. To go lower will take a sub. I have the Crites CT125 tweeters and the Atlas midrange drivers thanks to Lee, and have ordered the current production Klipsch midrange horns, The SpeakerLab midrange horns would NOT work in the La Scala cabinets. Bolt patterns and mouth of the horns was just too big. It would not work. Everything except the crossovers is either in hand or on its way. How long did it take for you to get crossovers from Al, Lee?

Was there any insulation in the original La Scala boxes? Can someone direct me to any info on damping La Scala cabinets? Hell, they maY NOT NEED ANY...iF THEY DO, I'm thinking of the rolls of fiberglass insulation.

Couple months Sutton. But that was extreme. Usually within 30 days iirc.

Had the balls to parallel my voice of the theaters with my Soniphase SL6 and drive them with my PLWO 1000. I used an OSHA approved SPL from work that goes to 130 db with +/- 1% accuracy. Hoovering around 0 db on the 700 the SPL meter was pegged at 130 and blinking, still had more to go. Didn't listen very long because 130 db HURTS. The PLWO 1000 handled it with ease, but was very warm. Need to put fans on it when you make that kind of power into 3.6 ohm load. Readings were taking in my sweet spot about 12 feet away with Dire Straits (Money for Nothing) playing. Was pretty hard on this old man's ears. Not a comfortable listening level.

Suppopse I've met my match??

Yea, Grandaughter helped me paint.

It's easier without all those stinkin' dots, ain't it?

Took my SL6 outside on my back patio and with a passive crossover and 511 horn driven with a 400 they really sounded great. A large open area really where these belong. My buddie at the clubhouse which is a quarter mile away called me and requested Supertramp which put on and he said that it was great sound.
