Record changers are notorious for inaccurate speed, checked with a stroboscope disc found this to be rock solid at 45RPM.
Yes these were built as cheap as possible so they could sell them cheap, RCA wanted to flood the market with them so they did not make a whole lot of money on them. The money they were after were 45 rpm record sales. Like a printer or a razor, they sell the printer or razor cheap they make their money on the refills.

Then Columbia released the LP and threw a rock through their window!

But you say cheaply made… by “modern” standards, they’re built like a tank! Probably why they didn’t put an “end of stack” sensor to stop repeating the last record.
