Przem's Phase Linear 700 Series II White Oak Conversion

So does mine...this is a dual voltage primary and I suspect there is less droop in the mains 240...

maybe less DC resistance in the secondary, or just better coupling to the primary since there are more turns. Is the physical size the same? If its got more iron for 50 hz duty, you'll get slightly better efficiency out of that too.

The physical dimensions are the same..as to your other questions, I don't know. More turns on the primary , less on the secondary. With the secondary voltage being the same in both transformers, there would be less turns on the secondary winding on the 240 primary than the 120 primary. So...would it actually couple better?? Don't think so. Personally I think it's the ability of the higher voltage primary to supply the secondary with voltage and current with less sag on the primary. Transformers are funny things....

yeah. lots of variables. Either way, if it performs better, it is better yeah?

Yeah.... but higher voltage in that chassis has the potential for more noise..

100.5 or something right around there. It was just a teeny bit over the cap's 100v rating. I want to say at full crank on both channels it was down around 85 volts. My load resistors can't handle that level of power for an extended amount of time, so it was a fairly short duration test.

Here ya go PLF...acceptable??

Yes Przem, soldering the wires to the power switch now. Then it gets the faceplate and the covers and back in your case. That's my goal for today. Have already talked to most of the pumpers and the partner, looks like work will leave me alone today.

Power switch wired...

Thanks, I dig it too...and the AC in will lay right on the bottom cover away from the pots and the board...

One last shot before the covers go on....and two of the bottom screws get shortened and rounded off....
