I'll agree, that watch is gorgeous. Good to see you back, Perry. Hopefully there's more work on the house behind you than in front of you. I'd hate to see a good 700 go to waste.
Just got back from Menards. Bought 3 interior doors, some trim, a new kitchen window................... Damn, I want this remodel done and over. Just bought the backsplash for the kitchen and the window and the kitchen will be complete.

That is a great update Perry, you have been busy, as usual. I hear you about too little time...seems every year it gets worse. Us seniors are supposed to be dialing it back but it never seems that way.
I told the wife if she didn't give me some time off I was going to sell the Harley since I didn't get many miles last year. Gonna pull it out of storage and get it all cleaned and polished (I'll get caught in the rain and ruin my spit-shine), fresh fuel and install the battery, it's gonna be 70 this weekend............. IN THE WIND BABY!!!!!!!!1

Tacking onto this thread.

I sent a box of rate and expensive parts to Australia a couple months ago and got an email yesterday…

1968 Omega Speedmaster.

Last year of the legendary 321 movement and last 321s purchased by NASA. Back engraving is the NASA stock number used on the issued watches. They also engraved a serial on the side of the case (last one was 97 I think) but the modern engraving didn’t look right so I just had the back done.

That's an awesome timepiece Jim. I sold the Omega and got a nice chunk of cash for it. I used the money for remodel of the house (bullshit story for the wife. I used the cash for some WOPL Parts from Joe). I'll get the rest of the parts here in about 2 weeks. I'm all wigged out since I tore the stereo down so I could get the man cave started. I haven't been without a WOPL for a long while. Since all my gear is retro, my furniture will be the same. The wife don't like it but I don't care. Here are the chairs for the pub table. Get out the sunglasses.

The table is Black and adjustable height

JOE, I'll get the green ones after the man cave is about complete...... YUP, made in Cina

Your story about the remodel funds cracked me up! I totally get the struggle of balancing what the wife wants and keeping the man cave sacred. Can't wait to see how it all comes together—sounds like it'll be a dream space once the gear and furniture are in place!

Your man cave project sounds epic, especially pairing it with WOPL gear. I’ve been piecing together my own setup and recently stumbled on a patek philippe replica that caught my eye. Not the real deal, of course, but it fits the vintage aesthetic I’m aiming for without breaking the bank.

You can't set the rate without a timegrapher... even then it can be difficult.

I'm sure it needs a full overhaul regardless, and modern synthetic oils run much nicer than the dino-based stuff.
