Looking at the input voltage to my capstan motor I am getting 12.8V. Is that too high and why I'm not able to slow it down enough? Could I put a resistor in line to lower the votage? Thoughts?
These EG530AD motors are used on car decks, so they could get 13 or 14V power supply without issues.
Is the speed changing when you adjust the motor trimpot ?

Speed changes but not enough I have a 530AD-2B. Ordered a -2F to see if it is any better. Coming from Nam so it will be a while. End of the month. Going to play around with it and see if anything else might not be working properly. The reverse play is having issues. Just another thing to look at. I worked in electronics for years, not mechanics.

just cancelled it. Reverse play only engages for a second. Head does not turn. (Saw your post on audio Vintage). I'm lost! I had ordered 2 -2B's. Could one be faulty and try the other?
