Is there a reason you switched from polarized to NP??? In some circuits it can cause issues (Kaboom), some circuits are no problem.
 
i have no idea...it was in the kit...no explaination....
i wrote the seller...fantasiaaudio ....awaiting an answer
i have not installed it...and have the old one if necessary...
i have bought several things from him....
very good reviews and sales
12000+ sales...99.8% positive reviews...
the old one does not look like a normal electrolytic to me...
not marked like the rest...
there is a pic up here of the old one...

look....i take up others slack for mistake making...lol
i have pics...and will start up a thread when i finish with this one cap...

these boards were nasty...i found 2 bad solder joints and a cap that was not entirely there...part of it was missing...cracked away....

That's the main reason I don't monkey with the old shit. That shit is shit.

yes...i saw that...i guess its different looking because it is axial...
not used to seeing those types....
the sx had none...
and a couple were on the 400c board...
but, were not replaced with axials...
limited experience all the way around...
my bad...
 
I think "fantasiaaudio" might be Ed "Old Phaser" here on the forum. Conversed with him a few times a couple years ago on Ebay msging but never got around to asking directly. I've bought a few things from that store and think he also has one or two other stores under different names.

Yes, I prefer and sub non polar caps in the audio path any time I can as they perform better with Ac(audio signal). Back when these amps were produced non polar caps in this value were rare and added to much cost for most audio companies to use. You can get away with polarized caps at very low current, but you would never see a polarized cap in a speaker crossover. The non polar is fine in either filtering and better in AC applications as this. Thanks, ed"

I wondered the same, George, but "fantasiaaudio" has an address near Philly/South NJ and "old Phaser" was in WA state, I believe, and recently relocated to CT.

I might have that completely wrong, but I sure have bought a few kits off "fantasiaaudio" when I was doing the Dynaco rebuilds - none from
WA.
