It is a varistor Gene, not really a cap. It is usually used for line surge suppression. Appears you had a surge.well, bought new battery charger...name brand ... used it b twice....today a puff of smoke....burnt cap plainly visible...

wont work in my bedroom ...kinda etched in cement filled bloch...and no space for another box...for the 30 amp plug ...and cutting plug on milking machine would have voided warranty...lolololMaybe use 30 amp outlets for the 220 line so you can't plug the wrong plug in... --o| instead of |o|
Invest in a label machine to mark 220Vbottom plug is 220 for a/c..
top plug is 110. .for all gadgets in the night stand...including lamp...really didnt want to bust cement...
