done for today...not much more i can do without the bias transistors....wont be long now...bias transistors in the road!!!

more chum!!!
You can safely proceed to bring up IF you put a small wire jumper between the C-E terminals on the back side of the control board Phoenix connector whilst you await the arrival of the replacement bias transistors. You will have zero bias which does not matter for basic operation.

And really study Kyle's build thread photos and the issues he ran into. He has really good photos and documented some issues and solutions he ran into. Very good study material now that you've learned more about WOPLs.
If I ever have extra S1 meters I'm going to send him a pair.

do i populate the back planes??
i have printed and read both bring up procedures...driver board and back plane...
or is this just to check voltages...
i am afraid...this was harder than anticipated...

I have a PDF called "Bring Up Procedure" or something similar. Look and find it. There are checks to do before you insert the first output. Thought you used a similar procedure on the stock amps, but this is more involved.
Verify several times that all wiring is correct, then really study the procedure and follow it precisely, and I mean precisely. Any errors will be apparent. But if all wiring and components are correct, you'll have good results.
Or check and recheck until you get the bias transistors, install them, then proceed, precisely.

one other question....
when i hook up c-e jumpers in the phoenix plug on the back of the control board....
do i do that with the 3 bias wires red, black, brown connected to the phoenix connector ???
or do i do this with the 3 bias wires isolated and taped up....
thanks to the powers that be this morning...

Either works Gene, there is nothing connected at the other end of those 3 wires so you can either leave them in the 3 position connector and add the C-E jumper on the control board or remove those three wires and tape them off and add the C-E jumper

You can bring a full comp control board up without ANY transistors in the back wall. If all good, it will regulate properly. You can check your offset.

If all good, then you can add the bottom most row of transistors, check again for all good and then rinse and repeat all the way to the top row, one row at a time.

not directly stated in docs...but offset is across speaker jacks as in stock 400??
sorry about stupid questions...i dont want to make sniffs day...
Offset is always across the speaker jacks. The DCP will need to click in before you get a connection however. It should kick in.
