phase linear 400

I think I have a cheap DAC from China floating around here somewhere. If I can find it, if I have not given it away I will let you know and we can work the same deal as last time. It's in my office now so we will see.

i want seperate dacs and preamps...and not a y cable...i have a spare heresy preamp...but onlt one modi 3...i want another just like what i got from you...

Its a series II PL 400 I bought a few weeks ago I am foolin with right now. Glad to hear about the eagle Gene!

I put together a parts list a decade or so ago. I think I had a kit of caps. Not much demand for them since Joe did his magic and no complaints here. I'm not in favor of the massive parts change outs such as all of the transistors and diodes. It opens up the possibility of mistakes, lifted tracks etc.

If I was to repair a 400/700 the front end transistors (Q1-4) would get changed without question. I've seen a lot of those let go in the last 5 years or so. Great for DCP sales, after the fact. I recently got a thank you from a 400 owner with vintage Pioneers that installed the relay board a few years ago.

No doubt in my mind that your DCP should go in any build. I have one now for the 700 you sold me a good while back and I put one in the 1st. PL 400 I built. This one meh, I don't know yet. The speakers I am planning on using the amp with I don't care too much about. I will keep what you said in mind. Thanks Don.
 
well, i saw a picture of the chassis....
these people are slower than molasses at the south pole...
and the dc protect board is there somewhere too....
anyway....
both 400s are providing gene and maria with great listening pleasure....
