Phase Linear 3300 Series II Recap and Cleaning

Here are some photos of the newly installed capacitors, transistors and integrated circuits. The capacitors used were Nichicon KZ, FG or KW and Elna Silmic II's.
The transistors were Fairchild TIS93 and TIS97's.
The integrated circuits were a drop in replacement made by Burr Brown - OPA2134.
I also replaced the indicator lamp with a LED. I'm still working on how this will "mount" to the faceplate as the original lamp was RTV'd. The one change I made was to add a pin and socket with shrink tubing - see photo. If I wind up RTVing the LED to the faceplate I will be able to remove the plate from the chassis without removing the LED from plate. All it will take is removing the shrink and opening up the two connections.
When I figure out how to mount this I'll add the post.

A few final shots before testing. I now have a HP 8903A 
and today's testing indicates all but one function is within manufactures specs. Always something to dork with. This is a new toy so I'll need to play with it for a while but can't wait to actually use it. Hooked it up to an o'scope and a spectrum analyzer - looked pretty good. Photos to follow.
Ok - just wanted to show the pots/selector switch after the faceplate was installed. Using nuts on both sides of the plate will help in keeping stress to a minimum. If the pot is pulled or pushed from it's natural position after soldering this could stress either the pot leads and worse the printed circuit board. After installing the faceplate I adjusted the inside nut to just touch the plate and then installed the outside nut to get a good mechanical fit. In addition to potential induced stress the faceplate requires a solid mechanical foundation and it seems that the pots are part of this. Prior to adjusting the nuts I found that when actuating the power switch the faceplate would bow slightly - now it's rock solid.
I've included one more photo of the nylon standoff / power actuator showing the small ammount of additonal throw required to get this guy to work reliably.

Thanks Lee. With several decades of communicating with colleagues’ that have more degrees than a therometer I've had to develope a certain skill set. Fun but challangeing as sometimes going under or around a wall is much easier than trying to climb it or bash it down.
I've based this thread on your previous threads as you are the master. I spent some time visualizing my thread. I guess it's kinda like some sporting event where you think things through. It's my anal side - drives the wife over the edge sometimes. I've quite a ways to go but you always do such an excellent job of documenting your work and have the upbeat / positive attitude that is infectious. Thanks for the incentive!
Hope I can figure out a proper way to test and document the preamp - too much fun.

Don't know why you wouldn't Dennis. Every pic you post screams"Pro". Me, I'm just a parts changer, but I am getting pretty good at it.
When I test I want to know the freq response first, Then THD & N, Max power, noise, xtalk, phase shift, Gain ( in Dbm, from input to output), and whatever else I dreamed up during the week.

Please don't short change yourself - you do an excellent job and I'm very impressed with your test methodology, test equipment and your excelletn documentation. This is non trivial stuff - and way fun too!
