New Music coming out

Find the new Toto official song releases on You Tube, Toto XIV sounds damned nice from all the leak attempts from the day before the official releases on Frontier (which has perhaps the lousiest security in the WORLD, judging by the previous leaks of Heaven And Earth by Yes)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrnQORhbCWE Orphan (official video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?cSNM5_5jP3Q&v=-fufU6fyZAo Holy War (audio)

User 'Annie' still has a full album up with what I suspect is a phony VEVO logo and lesser audio quality, get at it and listen while it's still there...

Thanks for posting this, Steven, as I didn't know Toto was still kicking.

For Mark Knopfler fans, he has a new one out called "Tracker." I may buy the LP and CD.

Love it Nando, thanks for the link......."the smell of tape...."

Speaking of the Toto release and others, there is a bit of a revolt on You Tube right now...the Leak Army. What you end up with is low quality postings of the 'full album' and single tracks.

Then you get ANGRY PEOPLE, SCREAMING that you had better take this down! Why is it slower and HOW do you find the supposedly imaginary 'easter egg' that is supposed to be in the settings (the little gear at the right of the control window that allows you to speed up to 1.25x and correct it.

OR WAIT!!!

Let's add a conspiracy theory...

Let's suggest that this is being done ON PURPOSE by the record companies to gauge the interest of the fans and promote a 'frenzy' of sales.

You're welcome, Lee. Isn't it great that tape is the preferred method for the master recording? I wish I had a career in a recording studio.

steadfastcoward has made his statement about this (you know who that is) on You Tube.

Like the engineer said" He INSISTED all masters were on tape"...Mark's voice gets more haunting as he gets older....

He still sounds good, looks like a great studio. Love that old Fairchild meter in a couple of the scenes.

It was a glorious mess, alright :)

DCFC cassette arrived.
Interestingly enough, it's an Atlantic Records release - but no noise reduction.
Can't wait to hear it on my system.

:happy2:

I wondered if it was possible that Dolby NR was taken for granted and didn't bother to put the logo on the tape- but then realized that it would have been a licensing violation.

Hmmm... That is an odd fish. What about the tape itself? Iron? Chrome? Metal particle?

Van Halen Tokyo Dome Live 2013

Is anyone considering this one?

I'll let you know what I glean from the tape once I open it up.
If there's no logo, then the license wasn't paid for and there's no Dolby.
It's Atlantic Records and not some indie label, so I don't doubt what the lack of a Dolby logo means.
I'd bet dollars-to-donuts on that. And honestly, I like the fact it's raw.

As far as the tape formulation, the cut-outs are type I sized.
