Thanks for the help Joe.
Thanks for caring to do it right Perry.
Threaded inserts for the lid might be just the ticket.
I'm thinking I might need a lexan lid to show off Joe's boards!..................Maybe a couple extra led's..............

If you ever had the top off of a 700B with a WOAD Light board, you'd know you wouldn't need any more LED's.... Joe has em shining like the sun.... You'll see the light leaking through the cracks. I love them. Especially when I did the red LED's. They look sinister. And then add a red filter to the insert??? Hell yeah.

I'll drill and tap the big holes and thread-lock the inserts to get them to 6-32. They should work great as long as they don't get reefed on.

Just say no to the pot(s).

We have a major pot grow house that has sprung up in town along our one commercial street, serving the med market presently. They are petitioning to be able to sell to recreational outlets now and promising a tax contribution for the town to go from the current $250K to $500K if the residents vote positively for it.

I inquired but they do not have the pots that Perry was looking for...

Well thank you for looking out for me Joe... Lord knows I could probably use a brownie (or 2).

This build is nearing completion. Just need to hook up the bulk caps and run the shielded input cables, and rebuild the face plate assy (power switch, light board etc...). Couple hours or so...... Oh, and the heat sinks for the G1 transistors. I keep em off till the end since my meat thumbs usually hit them at one point or another and I don't want to bend/break transistors.

(Taking careful note of your classy wire routing! Looks great!)

Didn't PL originally use small white zip-ties? I think the black ones were not available in the 1970's.

I want to try Sniffer's awesome wiring technique using black nylon lacing (I learned how to do that in the '80's at Naval Sea Support Center, Pacific - NAVSEACENPAC), by an old guy who told me that was the only way he learned to dress wiring because zip-ties had not yet been invented.

The benefits are that the nylon lace never breaks, the cut ends don't fly off and have to be discarded, the remaining sharp ends won't shred your fingers, and it looks cool if done right.

There is not enough real-estate to do lacing. Besides, I zip tie, wire some, cut zip ties, wire some more... I go through a bag of 100 just getting the wiring to look like that. The military taught us to ensure no FOD is in the area so we don't just let shit fly when trimming or cutting. I have yet to have a zip tie break... It's not like these amps will see a catapult on the aircraft carrier any time soon. And if a zip tie does break, the Navo Mil-Spec wire hold it's position very well. Kinda like using too much hair spray.
