Kitty Litter Plinth

Just bought some hardwood to make the jig for the plinth. Now to make it so you can adjust it for different sizes. Just poured a Faux Granite mix. Think I ordered 20 ounces of black. This is maroon. Bought a piece of MDF to use as a TT template. One the top is poured I'll pull it off and pour the bottom and the inside. So I will try different ways till it is copacetic. Wonder if I can wick the stuff off the Beralli board as as it weeps out? This is going to be a multiple pour.

Here is a color I made the other day. Messing with the maroon Faux Granite. It settles to the bottom when you pour. So your resin is on top and the granite is on the bottom.

I have to sand down to get to it. I like the pearl better. You don't see it unless the light hits it. I'm going to do a Black Pearl.

This is a slow cure. It is kinda cool in here. Door is open. Fixed my scooter this AM. Took it on a long ride. On some of the turns I had to slow down. I never hit my brakes out side of town except to stop. I did today. Fuel lines were breaking. Had to change some out. Used some seal a leak and tire balancer. Just mixed up a couple of Faux Granite. Did a clear with maroon faux and a blue with the maroon. Will take pics.

If you're not shakin like a dog shittin peach seeds.

To my wallet way, LOL Also learned. It will dry tacky so you can recoat. Unless you put wax in it.

2 gals of resin. Waiting on wax and pigment. I have 2 plinths to pour. Both a 2 pour. Will pour the tops separate of the body. Then break out the router and do round over edges.

I tried to stay away. Gotta share my triumphs and failures. Missed you guys. The plinth is at 26 lbs. Bottom done with kitty litter. Sides just resin. Top 3/4 inch will be kitty litter. Going to try a Barret Jackson paint system. It is a poly.

See, you've fallen for your own forum, imagine that!~

We missed you too - hope all is well and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts. We do need some photos of your plinth with the Wyoming kitty litter.

Ya know a state has to be famous for something, why not kitty litter??

Could be Illinois and be known for crooked politicians who are not worth kitty litter.

Ordered an end will for my router. Taps for the feet. The kitty litter mix is very thick. Do the body in black. The armboard in wood. The top will be a 3/4 inch pour. This has been trial and error. Not a easy pour. Or 3 or 4 pour. LOL
