(Sheepishly) I was so excited for Kevin to get his amp, as soon as I remembered that final pictures would be good, I just grabbed the camera and took the picture of the sealed box. It was 3:30PM and I really didn't want to unpack it. I did think about it though...

Hi Mark
I have no experience with the 333 or 334 analyzers. They are analog so you cannot do the nice automatic data capture that the 8903B or the one that Lee just got can but if you just want to make measurements they will be fine. HP is the standard bearer so you can't go too far wrong at $200 unless the unit is broken.

No problem on the pics Mark. Another one will surely come around. I know the feeling when you have wrapped something up and just want to get it out of there :)

Revision B report:

I hacked in the improvement to the negative 20V regulator today in order to breadboard what will be coming on the Revision B PL14_20 board in order to test it out.

As expected, it further reduces the already low turn on thump and nearly eliminates the small turn off tick. I suspect that a little more tinkering with the values of C3 and C23 will make even further improvement in this area.

Yep,. bought ten boards and enough components to do all ten, and enough 21196's for 10 -700's. Yep- 240 of em. That was a choker of a Mouser order.
As soon as the AP-ATS gets here I'll put Don"s Series II on the bench. It does have the PL-36 board so we can document a PL 36 replacement. I wanted to wait till the analyzer got here to do a before and after comparison----FINALLY!!!!!!!!

Been messin with the bootstrap possibility?? I bought some different toroids for the 1.3 KW monster. They have 2 primary 120 and 2 secondaries, a 163 VCT and a 112 VCT. That second winding should be able tro provide the extra oomph for what you have planned won't it Joe??

I guess that answers the question on why Mouser is always out of stock on the components on the PL14_20 board :)

The difference between me and Lee is that I will look at what Mouser has in stock and leave one or two on the shelf. Lee will take every last one and then force them to reorder their stock.

I think Lee has given up on gold investing and figured the appreciation on TIS97s will be better than precious metals over the next year :)

Right....all anybody has to do is ask if I have some and they're theirs, way too easy when it comes to stuff like that. I have a RERAL: hard time askin g for more than I've paid to someone trying to accomplish the same thing I am with stereo stuff. Probably due to the status of "Hobby" i associate it with. If it was ALL business, my atttitude would be different.
BTW.....I've oly got 250-300 left myself.

I should have done a before and after but here is a shot of the original PL 400 capacitor clamps in the back and the new WOA Design Capacitor Kit clamps in the front (not included in the kit, buy them from Mouser only if you need them, P/N 539-VR4).

THE AMP IS HERE

AND HERE IS A PICTORIAL OF THE UNPACKING AND FIRST LISTENING......THE METERS DO GO TO +3 AND THEN THE METERS BOUNCE...JUST ASK KEVIN......absolutely beautiful job Mark...I do know that one single solitary Phase Linear is not going to be enough..I see another Phas Linear 400 or perhaps a 700 in Kevin's future....but if you can make the Hafler P-50's functional agin.....that will suffice for now..

Man thes White Oak Phas Linears are so clean, you do not realize the volume levels until you attempt to talk....or until something which was proviously on a wall hits you in the head.

Thanks again Mark!!!
