Re: Phase Linear 400

Hi laatsch55 and Gepetto,
So far changed the transistor plane resistors, IN4004 diodes, and the r/c input network and switch..testing all those old resistors they were so far out of each other. So now i have Joes board and the dc protect board in, just awaiting the PS caps..
How do I attach a photo?

Open the full editor button at the bottom of the edit window, that will expose an "upload attachment" option. Use the Browse button to find your picture file, attach it and click the "Add the file" button to the right of the File Comment window.

Quite easy.

Re: Phase Linear 400

Hi John
Do you have any AC wiring in that harness that is running around the board? I cannot tell from the photo.

If so I recommend segregating all AC wiring in a separate bundle and keeping it well away from the DC and signal wiring in order to obtain the best noise reduction results.

I also recommend keeping the low level input wiring away from everything else.

Re: Phase Linear 400

joe looked around amp, very hard to keep away from signal, board or dc wires.
Only other way is to bring it outside amp, shield cable seem to be the only logical way to get it to dc board..

No Lee
120pF CDE Mica 5%, selected to match. That is what I have been using all along. Why do you ask?

Re: Phase Linear 400

That is what the stock I have looks like Lee, the classic shiny maroon colored CDE coating, whatever that stuff is.

Re: Phase Linear 400

Joe, looked at the shielded wire I have and its 24 gauge, do you think I should get something heavier for the dc protect board?
Also is there anywhere in the forum that talks about Altec Lansing amps? Have 4 1590e 200w professional amps that are very distorted when playing. The have transistors feeding a output transformer.
