yes he is Nando, I'm havin a hard time unhooking it and finishing it. It will definately be a wolf in sheeps clothing. If people see the amp and expect the "old PL sound" they will be profoundly surprised. oe's distortion measurements on his 400 have been nothing short of amazing. 've been researching some specs on some of the higher end stuff, he's taken the PL STUFF RIGHT THERE WITH EM. aDVERTISED THD&N was .1%, my Spec .05%, all these specs were at a filter setting of 30KHZ, Joe tested his at 80KHZ, a much tougher condition and brought it down to .006%, that figure compares with state of the art mosfets and Class D switchers of today. Components and circuit design determine function, i believe the "art" of that aspect is where the figures go that extra decimal point. My hat is off to Joe.......................and a large part of my allowance for the forseeable future. I ordered 10 boards just to upgrade my Pl stuff, and Larry's 700. I'm doing recalls on Pl's I've sent accross the country, 2-400's in Maine, a700 and 400 in Cali, 2-700's here in Gillette, and of course Larry's.

I might add the distortion specs Joe is getting are besting complementary -paired class A/B amps, that isn't supposed to happen. But it is.

Lee is way too modest. His contributions to this board are significant, backing me up and pushing to make this board universal across both the PL14 and PL20 boards slowed me down but it was definitely worth it when it was finished.

While Lee was testing the PL700, I was focusing on the PL400 so his efforts helped gain time in the end. He will make Jerry very happy too :-)

Lee, Joe: the bench testing and listening sessions prove the Phase Linear 400 and 700 amplifiers can compete with the best out there. That is a shot in the arm for the PL owners who opt for the upgrades. I, certainly, would be bragging about it. Great work done for an old war horse!

Thanks Joe, Nando! It's fun to see the faces who have test listened the new monster. Kaleb is a firm believer in the Spec 2, until this latest round, his eyes lit up as his glasses started to vibrate down his nose. Levon just smiled real big as track 4 from "Vegas" took out some bulbs.

using Jer's "White Oak" 1000 to get motivated to convert the Sterling 1-1/2 ton roustabout truck to a camper trailer puller. 3,000 lbs off, couple more more to go. the poor thing when its ready for the field is 19,000 lbs now. Add an 8,000 lb gooseneck and a 16,000 lb backhoe, shit, pretty soon you're talking LOADED!!!!!!!!!!!
Hauled 132 jts of tubing the other day that weighed 200lbs a joint, plus the gooseneck, plus the truck, up and down the dirt roads and steep hills of the field. It's a wonder the wheels stay on it.
Some Crystal Method--"Vegas" is gettin me goin.

What do you think you could do to a Phase Lineat 400 Series I, or would it be better to just go all in and get a 700B? I used to own a 400 back in the day, and it and my speakers stayed in the shop. I'd love to talk to you about redoing a 400 Ser I or a 700B. Could you PM me? I want all the same thigs Jer wanted...bulletproof..non-speaker eating, non-smoking, and can do wahtever you think is best. Thanks and yes, I want to full treatment....I can buy the parts and send to you, or you can source them. I just wanted to see if you'd do it for me, and about what the cost estimate would be....
