Haha! Mouser wants to charge me $42 for some damn fuses! These fuses are pretty ridiculous. It sure seems appealing swapping out the fuse holders, do you have a writeup on that?

Looks like I also need the 1/8amp fuse for the 2000 series 2 preamp: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail...=sGAEpiMZZMtxU2g/1juGqbdCHRI5TALuqmZVzTvy2Cs=

These fuses suck, I don't want to pay $8 for shipping and only get 1 or 2 fuses, blow them possibly and have to double my expenditure later...sigh.

I need all these fuses, and MAN does that price add up, I really hope the preamp works OK when I replace the fuse:

PL400:
AGX 5 fuses (supply)

AGX 8 fuses (supply)
AGC 10 fuses (line)

PL 2000 Ser. 2
.125 AGC fuse
Mouser tends to have fair prices from my experience - I'm not sure where the $42 figure came from though. If you purchased 10 each of the fuses you originally listed the cost would run you $20.74 before shipping. That does not include the .125 amp fuse. Let us know if you find a better price - shipping always sucks but if you bundle it with other items it's not so bad.

The preamp fuse was the expensive one. The preamp actually does appear to have singed the fuse under close observation...so still boot it up when the replacement comes after I deoxit and so forth?

Awesome news! Now I can't wait to get everything fixed up and turned on! I feel like early Christmas is on the horizon. Now I am thinking...what do I want to play on the amp first? Do I want to do a direct FLAC file of an album from my computer to my Mark of the Unicorn 828MKII 24/96 Audio Interface (and which album do I pick) or do I want to choose a vinyl with my newly refurbished Luxman turntable for the first go? What do you think?

I remember when I first got my TV/Audive ADC set up and running I watched the bluray of "Baraka" (which was filmed on large format film) to really get a feel for what it could do.

Yep. Could have been line surge. Nothing much to hurt in that puppy.

While I love listening to vinyl, with decent speakers, that amp will probably cause acoustic feed back when you step on the gas!

Halfbiass...Electron Herder and Backass Woof
Unless you have a killer set of K-Horns and a WOPL 1000, then nothing is safe in the same room...

Brad, the 4 outputs and some fuses are packed and will go out in the morning. What you are getting is a laatsch55 care package, and they always have a few extra goodies......

I CAN'T WAIT! Someone needs to sneak me his address so I can send a proper thank you! Heh.

To add to this there is a new Pink Floyd album released this week online, as well as a new David Bowie single. I will have plenty of stuff to listen to. I just had a newborn and I want to have a working amp so that I can get her turned on to the classics early and not pop "Aria Grande".

I hope you have some good speakers! I had a pair of cheap pyramid subs hooked to my series one once, (for about 5 mins):angryfire:!!!! They were rated 350rms and I had to reach in with a wet rag and put the fire out. Smoked the VC's right out of them!

HA! Well I have some smaller 60w yamaha bookshelf speakers that I have always liked (I have two sets) for quiet listening, a 200w clumsy set of Technics if I want something to just be loud, and a custom tower set of rebuilt infinity speakers for quality sessions. My guess is that I will have to be careful what I put power to...

I think I most likely ran into an excursion issue. The cabinets they were in were designed large and efficient, but probably didn't control cone movement enough at those power levels. I think they were only about $70 each driver so not a high quality piece.
