drummergrl's Lottery WOPL

...and if that doesn't work

The problem is not enough CROWN ROYAL

I find sipping on a wee dram of cask strength Laphroaig 2:1 with water or, even tastier but no better medicinally, a comparable dram of Lagavulin neat will DEFINITELY do the trick! Use it sparingly of course, it's important to medicate responsibly. ;)

Jack Daniels and some cherry moonshine is in my "medicine" cabinet. Have not been sick enough to mess with it though

Cherry moonshine? Anything like the grappa my dad kept around (for medicinal purposes)?grappa2.jpg

You Too Lee? I'm on my second round of antibiotics. Man this is one bad JUJU Flu.
I believe we all could use some of gramppa's cheery shine.:shaking2:

The driver board is built. Due to the lenghth of the wait time to speed things up I'm gonna take the Pig and put in the new driver board and swap the lottery amp faceplate over to the Pig and be done with it this weekend....

What is the Pig?

The Pig is quite infamous. He was the bench mule 400 for years. He's the one that got all the prototype White Oak goodies for testing. He sports gold plated speaker posts, gold plated input jacks, and copper heat sinks that have been replaced with the stock aluminum ones. And has been blown up countless times during testing. He's had quite the history.

The Pig may be the most famous PL amp of all time Michele, your a lucky girl. He will stomp your Technics amp into the mud easily. In running form, he has stomped some of the most expensive amps you could buy

YEP!!

You are getting the most famous White Oaked Phase Linear of all times.

You don't know how lucky you are, and Lee is doing a wonderful thing to give her to you.

WOW!

THE PIG !!!

Cherish that piece of art.

As I remember she was a hottie too...cranking some real PIG POWER !

Wow. When I read Lee's response, I was thinking how can he give the Pig up? But hey, I'm not giving the Pig up now!!

The lottery amp on the bench..

It's actually a shame thing. I'm ashamed that it's been so long and I've told you that it would be mid-February when your amp would be done. But you will get a tried and true veteran of the White Oak Wars...

Joe is working on 400 chassis now and I have a feelin I will be building a new Pig from the chassis up.....

Amen Michelle...

Funny thing about pots on a 400.....hard to fit. Don't know if this will stay...looks like a sure short unless there is an insulator between the pot and meter board...

The connections on the bottom side of the light board were brought up to the component side to avoid the pot shorting out the light board....

And Michelle, this driver board was populated by Mr. White Oak Joe hiself as part of the lottery amp deal. Along with new caps and a complete set of backplane boards!! Thanks Joe !!!

I have really next to no electronics knowledge. I started the quest for a great amp (that lead me here) by asking our friend Ron a lot of questions. Can you explain how you will remedy this Lee? What acts as an insulator? How do you fit anything else in there to insulate?

And let me thank Joe for his generosity too!!!
