Michele wanted a 400 with rack handles...told her good luck with that....and lo and behold a 400 Stephen picked up for me in Phoenix , which Jason made the deal on with a cherry 700B,. just happened to have a set. It also has front panel IEC style fuses and volume pots. It was not done by a hack either, very well done. This amp has been sitting in Stephens garage for months as I thought it was a beat up frankensteined 400 from the description I initially got....this will be an interesting project..

This did have some external caps, I remember the story now , it had an external jag of caps bolted to the heatsinks. I had told Steve to go ahead and trash em...got it on the AP right now......not good. 10% distortion on the left channel, right channel looks good...

So I guess you should not lick your fingers and touch these :-)

That'd be my guess....IIRC there was a 4 pack of 22k/100 volt caps on the outside...

What is the note on the fins? 85VDC/20A running through them? You could probably charge your Iphone but just walking past this beast. :happy3:

This is exciting!
Do you have good BEFORE shots of the front and rear for my files? Kinda like it's baby picutres, before it grows up!

Those that are posted, but I can certainly take more. Won't look any different on the outside, be plumb different on the inside...

Doing some warranty work right now, then I have to finish Ben's...

Yep....been sick for two weeks...

Get better soon! I have heard lately about some bad flus and strep throat going around in my area- southern Maine/ coastal NH. Two weeks, sounds terrible, I feel for you. ;(

We're on the mend now and about done with the antibiotics..
