No, long as it'll fit. I don't think this has ever been tried and you really would have a one of a kind amp. No fucking doubt about that....Interesting........

A 400 has 8 outputs per side, a 700 12, this would have 16. It would look like 2-400's stacked one on top of the other, with a black face, 2-400 meters, and silkscreened on the front, possibly half the bible. Very interesting....

Wow, sounds like its going to get me evicted :laughing9: I should be able to fit it in here somewhere. Will remove some components to make it fit.

I wish I knew. At least it will break down into 4 manageable pieces...
I won't argue with that. Totally separate power supplies sound kick ass. I'm curious on how the two amps will talk to each other, or does 1 of them do left channel and the other the right?

It'll take 3 enclosures Dennis.
This sounds like it is going to be one serious system. Derek - I think you'll have to get some large cement blocks to put this system on and maybe move your other equipment to keep it safe. I don't think you want it to vibrate off the shelves. :confused2:

I need the speakers to support it as well remember. That's going to take time and drive me f&$#ing nuts. Will just try not to blow up my current 12 inch drivers in the meantime. I will make sure the smoke alarm is secure though, it fell on top of the thorens when I was playing midnight oil at loud volume one time.

I do have a friend with some $4000 interdyn speakers which are not very efficient, I will have to take the amp(s) up there for a test run.

Sir Joe, If I stack 2 PL 400 chassis, is there going to be any problems jumping from the lower board to the one above ii??

I want the power of a 700 with the complementary output config of the 400 backplane and Rev D boards. So, I'm proposing to "Stack" 2 PL 400 chassis vertically and make a faceplate to cover the both of them. 2- 400 meters, 2 outboard power supplies, and run 16 outputs per channel instead of the 8 on the 400 or 12 on the 700. Whatcha think, other than the obvious that I'm nuts..??

Of course you are nuts Lee, we wouldn't have it any other way :)

We will think about that one for a bit and see what we can come up with.
