Its nice to be able to sit here and flick through my favorite tracks on the PC, they ALL sound better, everything I play. Have backed off on the volume a bit as I don't want to piss anyone off, did a couple of hours of fairly hard driving, the WOPL kept saying to me "is that all you got?" haha. Careful with that axe eugene :evil4:

I'm so happy for you D2....I really am pleased you like it.
You did outstanding with this build. The left meter does not bother me at all. I have not been able to get the meters to go half way yet, maybe 40% and that was LOUD. It will be interesting to see how this amp drives other speakers, I have a couple of people wanting to hear it through their speakers and pre-amp of choice. I'll be leaving the amp switched on for as long as possible too, need to get my large battery backup unit running again so its protected from any voltage sags that may come from the grid, but this rarely happens.

Is 108dc on the rails quite high? What's the highest you've seen?

LOL! Congrats!

And pissing off the neighbors is half the fun of WOPL-ing ... especially the neighbors situated WAY DOWN THE STREET :laughing8:

Smoke and mirrors baby!
Great work D2 and thanks for all the great pictures. I haven't been on the site very long but I think those are some of the most comprehensive pictures I've seen. I'm sure everyone appreciates those and all your work on this WOPL700! They really give a complete newbie a good idea how everything fits together.

A quick question on that new chassis. Is it my imagination or is that chassis slightly deeper than the original? It just looks like there's a little more room between the boards and the meters. Maybe it's just that it's a lighter color (alunimum) and not black.

Thanks again!!

Thanks mate!

Lee did the majority of the work, I just attached the transformer and soldered a few things. But I had to learn how to solder first!! :evil4:

Its so nice to wake up to a WOPL :blob8:
