Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

When I started searching the net for info on the old Pl amps, I never in my wildest dreams would have thought a place like
this existed where so much passion and craftsmanship would be dedicated to these old beauties.

Kudos to all of you :hello1::hello1::hello1:

This must be a first and it will be great to see it complete. I think it is getting close to being a White Oak amplifier as fewer Phase Linear pieces are used.

Will you sub in a transformer to test it?

No, I'll use the transformer cover to fab everything up, then use the monster monbo prototype power supply...

Yeah...cool as hell ain't it???

Yep.
Can't wait too see the finished amp. Will it have one of the new faceplates?
So what did you name her Derek??

Not sure yet. Maybe the Phoenix WOPL 1000 Ultimate Edition.

Gotta find a place to put her. I might move the Reel to Reel down below and take out some cassette decks to fit the Nakamichi 480, Graphic Equalizer and Multi CD Player in the side shelves. The WOPL deserves to be up the top center. Pioneer VSX-9500s is going to be the pre-amp for now.

But the Denon DR-F7, JVC TD-V661 and Nakamichi 480 are definately staying as they are my favorite decks.

whats the approximate wattage draw from the mains while the amp is idling, please give me an estimate from your previous wopl 1000 builds.

Very little idling D2, not sure of the exact number, but I'll find out when we fire it up...

The fits on this thing are amazing....when something is this well built it just falls together....the K's crankin in the background....just don't get any better than this...

Nice line of gear you have there Bud. The WOPL First Edition will fit right in for sure.
Hey that beer?? I had a real good buddy (he's passed now) that went to Lake Gairdner in south Australia
every year to race there at the dry lake. He brought a bottle back with him one year , I remember seeing it in his old shop.

What are those things with the three prongs that get soldered to something?
