You will have 2-solder joints on the BR, one to a terminal end of the centertap wire for the bus bar, and 3 joints on the terminal strip, that's it. 15-30 minutes at most. Pop the top and bottom cover, lay the faceplate down and there ya go. All will be right there by the caps.
I'm thinking no need to fuse the speaks, as there is DC protect. If I over drive them it will be a lesson learnt and give me an idea of what they will take. Also I will be hooking up the Auditone Speaks to it first as a test run, I won't be too stressed if they blow.
I have smelt coils before when I had the Pioneer 9500s hooked up to the Pioneer towers and Technics speakers, played an explosion sound through them at high volume, that was dirty power over driving though. The speakers survived and sounded fine after that, but it was surely a warning that smell.

We call that the " dead, burnt motor" smell in the oilfield. Any coil that burns , or a set of windings has a very unique smell from the type of liquid insulation that they are coated with. Gives off a very odiferious aroma....
Cool, well its not going to get worked hard when it gets here. unless I want to be catching woofers and putting fires out Maybe down the track when I get some more speaks. I thought about hiring some speaks and going to an isolated area away from suburbia to give her a hard run but wouldn't be able to afford to replace them and I'd be rather upset if I wounded the WOPL.
I think there is much enjoyment to be had without blasting it anyway. There will be enough loudness and headroom to push the limits of the surrounding neighbors without going too far on the gear.
But now that i think on it awhile....I do have more of those Levinson toroids....and I will have a few days waiting on Joe......and i do want to parallel a pair of toroids.......

I think the only way that would happen is low impedence loads with no fan.....they're pretty damn rugged.....I have driven a couple to destruction.....but i had to get wayyyyyyyyyy more extreme than you would get just driving speaks and then had to run 10 amp rail fuses instead of 5 to do THAT....

Q5, Q7, Q10, Q8, Q9, D9, D10, and at least 1 output on each row....a few emitter resistors, various resistors on the board....it was a F*&^%$# mess....
