Aren't hose beauts! You would think as big a Pioneer fan I am I would have at least one pair of vintage 70's Pioneer headphones around. They just don't seem to be as readily available as others. I have older Sansui and Akai (4 channel), however.

Nando.

SE-L 40's..

They are beauties, but it's better to call them a "Piece of Art"...

I don't care much for their technical specifications in this case, it's all about the looks of them.

Miles, after so many posts regarding Headphones, they (the phones) almost deserve a thread of their own. Im sure at this point it would be a fairly large thread, just thinking back on the recent acquisitions. Not to mention the 12 or so pairs you had before all the new ones. :laughing9:

You're maybe right, but it's still fun to post them in this thread....

Total number of pairs at the moment: 15 (some had to go...) and this is without that Pioneer. ;-)

Those Pioneers do look quite nice, by the way Miles.

Miles - you've provided a lot of information regarding cans and that has been very informative and very interesting. I'm with Ben in regards to a thread about cans but maybe something that teaches us about the renovation of them. It is always good to learn something new.

I agree with the others.

I love the contributions Miles makes to the Digest, but he should definitely create a dedicated headphone thread as a point of reference.

Off the Beat

Sign of the times sadly.

Hanway Street has been synonymous with record stores for years. There was a (better) shop further along called Vinyl Experience that closed down in the 1990s. I seem to recall that they also sold old prerecorded Betamax videos and 8-Tracks amongst other cool stuff.

£100 or less...

I covered the serialized version of this documentary in my Music Matinee feature on Tapeheads, I do believe, along with several AT&T/Western Electric short subjects from You Tube.
