Took the solder off. Still says no CD. I have the chip. God I hate doing something I have never done before. LOL Heck i don't want to take this apart again. LOL

He told me to unsolder the shorting solder. That is done. Still nothing. Every thing originates from the chip. It is the control chip. Will do more TS and see; but I think it is the control chip.

Cdm 14 ? What brand? I assumed you had a Sony, but it looks like it is a sony KSS-213 mechanism. At some point post photos of the board and I'll find one for you.
Now that you have red light....when you changed the motor did you measure anr reset the disc table height? The distance between the lens and disc is critical.

No laser light. LOL I was mad and seeing red. Yes it is a sony. I have 3 or 4 of the SMs for this transport. No adjustments were called for. Just pull the laser and put the new one in. I forgot about the blob. LOL Motor is soldered right to the board. No adjustment. Here are some pics. Thanks Doc.
