Wow, I am amazed that you would attempt this without a clear idea of what was wrong with the unit.
Laser replacement is not that hard mechanically but you need to have all your ducks in a row.

It is no biggie. I was given the wrong info. So I'll have a new laser and motor and if that isn't it I have something else new. I have no manual for this unit and all I have is it is a Sony transport. So I'll go from there the best of my ability.

Well after 2 weeks of being on back order. The motor gets here today, Don't know if I will get to it or not. Loader is kicking my butt again.

Ok no voltage to motor. Will pull the board. Have schematics. Who would like to troubleshoot the board for me. I'm not that good to solder the chips. Try to find whole board. No go. Have continuity thru the motor. I do want to get this going. I'll even pay. LOL

PM me with your price.

No but Jerry is going to do a road trip next weekend. If the control chip went it is 45.00. Could find a Sony with the same transport for that much; but how long will it last. LOL

My AA cdp got here. The tray will come out but not go back in. When you push it in manually it comes back out after 20 seconds.

Well I guess I should go check the mail for the puller. They sent the chip from Singapore. So it is coming. I have to learn how to trouble shoot boards again. Instead of doing what I think it may be. I did get the new meter. I also am watching a new power supply. How high does your go Lee? Wasn't it 36vdc?
