This is my thinking. I will give you guys 1st dibs. If it doesn't sell off to ebay it goes. I have not seen any of the CDPs on ebay.

So you guys will be 1st. Do we do them one at a time or all at once? I need some suggestions.

Can we set up a separate section for the auctions. If you guys want you can list your own equipment also.

Larry
I've got stuff listed on the main site Trading Post already.

Steve, an auction may garner more attention than a static sale at the trading post. i know i don't go there often.

There's no way in hell I'm ever going put my savings account in jeopardy to Paypal. Now that there are no more paper checks for Social Security it's my savings or a debit card.

I heard from a local man just two days ago that his CREDIT UNION was hacked and he was high and dry until they got him a new card. If I lost my 21 year old account to Paypal shenanagins I would be forced to open a new one with a $100 minimum balance.

I have just under $700 amonth. That's forced poverty. I keep one cent in and they cover the $4.00 fee that is charged between the end of the month and 3rd. That is what keeps it going

Gee whiz, a decent pair of JBL Lancer 44's needing surrounds and one terminal repaired at my price should be a good one.

You'd think so, but Pay-Pal is not mandatory, a mutually agreed on form of payment was the last idea.

Paypal is fine, I've never had a problem, in fact they emailed me when someone got in and sniffed around, left me a phone # to the center in VA to talk to a real person, I was trippin' on fungi that night, Jerry knows about it, they were very professional, I just closed my bank account and opened another at the same bank, the bank watched my account for 2 months for any weird shit, nada, nothing. Lot's of folks trash PayPal, they do charge fees, but its a service that protects you in the event of problems an fraud.

I just keep $1 in that account in case anyone gets hacks in, they get nothing, if I buy something, I transfer from my debit card on line free, Steven maybe you should look into this a little deeper. I understand you like the Credit Union, do they charge you for transfers online? or anything like that?

I don't pay for anything bank fee wise.

I was speaking to a man at the store who had to scramble and reorder his checkout (for food).

Mine's the one with a Pig for their new savings program and their shield logo is folded into airplanes etc, Based in Minneapolis since that bank bought them.

Take 100 bucks out of the equation and it cripples you perpetually, A payday loan is a crutch like that too. You either don't fix anything (including what you can sell), eat a lot less or stagger utilities. By fall I'll need energy assistance anyway.

I have tried to use Craigslist to get things and local auctions and stores. The last CL buy my mother told me that the guy gave her the creeps and if Dad hadn't been there I would never have gotten it (they said he looked like he was on something). :(

Can you paint a surround white? I've seen RED ones on JBL Lansers 44's as well but mine are WHITE.

CL can be creepy, I only met people at public places when I sell, never in my home. The only things I've bought on CL was a Nak BX-300, that I plugged in at the college to make sure it worked (I brought headphones and a tape), new member Tasuke needed a Pioneer 777 graphic/spectum EQ, that I verified it powered up, and a pair of AR's out of the trunk of a VW $50 I had burning a hole in my pocket and took a chance (they worked great)

Tucson is a scary place sometimes, lot's of drugs and druggies :bootyshake:

About those Lancers, I'm not to familiar with those, but I wouldn't want a painted surround on any speaker, dyed maybe, but paint, no way jose'.

You should be able to tell by the feel of them, are they smooth, they should look like rubber not glossy.

Whatever they are, with an 8" full-range PLUS a passive 8" on top and white cones with chromy VC caps that seems to be the way they came.

A friend left me some 6' plus tall steel shelving (one five shelf unit) and when I finally looked out the door...

Now it's in place in the new shed and I can figure out how/what to load.

I don't think so yet but other than making sure the drive drives my main goal in like has been getting this house in order and I'm about to go put some things in the shed and clean. It's siting it that corner where it's SAFE until the desk I made for my RTRs has a clear path to slip it in. I'm right where I needed to be to do that. I'm sorry for the delay but better untouched and okay than in the wrong place and not.

Story elsewhere here by afternoon with photos.

I now have two cabinets in place and what was in there shelved and a roast finished from the microwave. My old Compaq is dead again, maybe the PS and maybe not. I did a lot of laundry and dishes plus dumping and moving about of stuff. Some roast and sleep are now due.

OK
If it is up and running tomorrow. It should be a big day. I have AA stuff that will be put up for bids. Plus the CDPs. Google the heck out of the stuff. I'm not going to give it away though. I do know what I have. I just lost a DAC in a box. I have some ICs and speaker cables that will go also. I need to get rid of a lot of stuff. LOL I have stuff in my closet that I forget until I look in there. LOL

Let's make this work. It may be slow at the beginning. I just got my report on search engines. We are on almost every search engine in the world.

Kewl!! Let's make it professional looking and have the rules clearly posted in a sticky, no offence Larry, but I don't think you should be the one, since half of us don't understand you and we know you hehe (said with :love4: !!). And don't look at me in that tone of voice, I'm gonna be drunk today and hungover tomorrow :laughing8: :laughing8:

When it gets all set up, I'll do links at sites I'm aware of for bidders :kermit:
