Blinkys are blinking

Hmmm, yup it's been awhile but looks like we're one step closer. Circuit here is pretty much working, but now I need to think on a sensitivity switch to go with it. This would be the right channel. Going to do a "mirror" image for the left with both originating from the centerline.

With around 5.6 vac coming from the original meter light secondary, works pretty good. Full scale is about 5 volts, so figure we'll need a 10 to 1 reduction for the "high power" range. Simple voltage divider ought to do it.. :thumbright:

Wow Jer, just WOW!! Those leds are just the right size and, move so nicely, great job buddy! I think I've mentioned that I'm a meter fiend :happy2: and that I HATE the meters on the big SAE almost as much as I hated the ones on the Yammie MX-800U!!

Jerry did an awesome job redoing the meters on my Sanyo amp in green/yellow/red, the only one on the planet, it made a very special amp even more special to me :laughing8:

Since I'll be in the WOPL club soon, may I request a possible set up for my monos? They would not be copying yours since...well, they're monos!

I too am looking forward to seeing your finished work of art!

LOL but I tell ya.. I'm still kind of suffering from "builder's block" haha. Did a little bit last night, cutting it to size and drilling the bolt holes. Need tools to start finishing it, plus gotta figure out how to punch a square hole in 1/4 inch aluminum plate. Drill small.. insert jigsaw.. hmmmm... I hate the mechanical aspects, if ya can't tell by now (Shaddup Perry.. LOL.. :toothy5:).

Building "capability" back up!

But hey! Another nice HP piece of test equipment came in today. The other one I had died a very painful death by lightning last October (among other things.. damn that was expensive.. ), so this here was a real good deal off the 'bay. It too has an IEEE-488 interface.. well... a module I COULD get if I was that crazy to start making my own automated test bench (lol, yup.. I am tempted..:hello1:). I already have a USB to 488 controller for the 8903A below it.

Now no excuses on power testin.. but the procrastinator in me says.. "tomorrow" soooo..

Jer, when you test the wattage could you show how that procedure is done? I would like to see how it is configured with the scope and dummy loads etc. I hope it's not a pain to document this procedure, if it is don't worry about it. Just curious is all

Mounted, bolted..... ?????? How's your car doing????? :iroc:
hah... man that Monte Carlo was the LAST damn used car I ever bought.. that in addition to O'Keefe's skylark took it's last trip right to Ecology. Funny shit tho, the previous owner took his air shocks off it before driving it down to the boneyard. Picture no shocks, cruising down 905 on nothing but springs in the back.. shoulda bought some dingle balls, Vato...watch out for the border patrol, mon!! :toothy5:

Seriously tho. got the amp all buttoned up for now with just the power switch on the Jer-Custom faceplate. Gotta make the meter circuit for the other channel, drill holes for the leds, wire em all up.. etc etc.. Have not decided on the LED layout yet - left/right on the same vertical plane... stacked... both vertical from top to bottom.. hmmmmm.. maybe a semi-circle?
