Hmmm, yup it's been awhile but looks like we're one step closer. Circuit here is pretty much working, but now I need to think on a sensitivity switch to go with it. This would be the right channel. Going to do a "mirror" image for the left with both originating from the centerline.
With around 5.6 vac coming from the original meter light secondary, works pretty good. Full scale is about 5 volts, so figure we'll need a 10 to 1 reduction for the "high power" range. Simple voltage divider ought to do it..
