Hey...I'll take it back at the end as I have a few folks local that want to check it out but did not have a chance when I had it.
 
Yea I'm gonna borrow a nad 165 pre tomm from a buddy. It's like 6 months old and he paid a grand for it I think. But it will give me a good idea of new verse old. Can't wait!!
 
A good pre will certainly bring out the best in the WOPL--Garbage in-Garbage out..
 
Too bad I couldn't have sent my Spec 1 down there...
 
Jesus lol I got the meters to hit the red. But by that point shit is bouncing of my concrete walls and swirling all around lmao! It is so bright when it's up like that!!
 
I have a sony bluray player going through a dac. That's one thing I never invested in was a good cd player!
 
Nope on the 12's. I'm gettin ready to get the 15's out. God there big and heavy. Wish I had a dolly
 
Take the CD directly to the WOPL, use the gain controls on the WOPL for volume. That totally bypasses any influence the 939 might have. There is plenty output on that DAC to drive the WOPL to insane power levels...

Got the meter switch on 0db?
 
A Sony Bluray player is no slouch, not giving up much there..
 
CD players have plenty of output and when super critical listening is in order I'll do that sometimes, but with the pre I have and what's been done to it there's not THAT much difference, but there is SOME.
 
And if you get radical, let those voice coils cool between songs, even those high dollar mid horn drivers I have can be melted...
