700B Build

The bushings fit within the transformer core without modifications, but the cap cradle and chassis require drilling out.
and JB weld? I saw in your post some were? I like the bigger bolts :)

Thanks George ;)
A- I will check again. I see the AC Ground wire was hooked up to the Case frame which grounds the Transformer ? I did not do these step.
1- I will have to check my AC is correct first (Check my cord and w a ac power tester also going to a my main power strips and my test power strips. and even the 120vac outlet
2- Test w and wo ground hooked up (That .2vac is really low compare to you test results)

Update 400 II
Same results if I ground the transformer the .2vac goes even lower.
Check 120vac N and Hot (is correct)
Check all winding
All wires were not Shorted to Ground -None
Winding - all Ohm out (None shorted)
all Secondary Winding to Primary - Open

George, Joe , I guess it ok? Note - Joe said "What I have found is that, generally speaking (and this all is conditioned by generally speaking because there are always exceptions)"
I will keep track when I restore more of them.
Next test - I have to temporary hook it up w rectifier and caps and check dc voltage.

Sounds good Steve!
My amp rebuilding days are over, though I may go back in and do small upgrades on the existing four PL amps.
Next up for me is integrating all four amps into a single system using a four way active crossover.
Have fun and keep up the good work!

It gets real fun bout the time you've checked cabling for the umptheenth time...had inputs reversed, outputs going to left and....left..., No power cord for the CD player, Input Select was unlit, and a small unnoticed mute button pushed in......and then that note hits you were looking for...the smile creeps accross your face and keeps growing as your ears really are hearing things in a new and wonderful way...been listening constantly since work today, Jani too...just sittin in the mancave in awe....

Let the magic flow

Output power and listening tests completed and off to the owner today.

I'll be building one for myself if I can find a donor at a respectable price...

With all the WO parts do you really need a donor?
