Does a WOPL run too hot to be encased in an original PL wood cabinet?

Thanks! So...explain what the numbers mean in a S/N spec sheet listing, pretend I'm really dumb. Where do you want the stated number in db to be for an excellent pre-amp? The lower the number the better, right?

Thanks for the owners manual with specs! Now will someone explain to me in simplest terms possible what Signal to Noise means? And does anyone here have one or have heard one of these and what is the opinion on their quality and reliability?
