Man regains spinal cord function and walks with cell transplants...

I thought the parts came from his nose, not his mat ? Unless he sneezed them out first ? I'm confused. I'd rather hear more about the water into wine thing, though water into beer would be better.

    David's Phase Linear 700B Thread

480 3 phase is the most I fool with too. I want to say our transformers are 30 or 50 kva. Its nothing truly huge like some guys deal with. The biggest motor we've got in the place is a single 30 hp, most of them are 1.5 hp. The ones that go bad are the 1.5 hp jobbers and that purely due to...

    David's Phase Linear 700B Thread

having done retrofit work in other things before, I have to agree that its usually easier to start with an empty box vs working around a bunch of stuff one piece at a time. I haven't converted my PL, but its something of a mess inside in stock form.

    David's Phase Linear 700B Thread

Looks about like the power transformers I have at work too, and we have 4 of them I think. The main disconnect in the MCC cabinet looks about like that too. Our MCC is probably about 7 feet tall by 18 or so feet long and thats small in the industrial world. Electricity is no big deal, just...

the snubber caps on the rectifier smooth out high frequency switching noise from the diodes turning on and off.

Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

Thats a pretty rough looking rack conversion job. Gotta love pop rivets. Where is the other side of the chassis ?

Przem's Phase Linear 700 Series II White Oak Conversion

A-B PLC stuff is a little odd. Their various families don't really interface well either. We have two at work. The radiation cell runs an old PLC 5, the blender uses a SLC-500. None of the parts interchange, and I don't expect the programming would either. The PLC 5 replaced an older PLC-2...

    Jimmy's HH Scott Re-Cap...

That looks wholly unnatural seeing an HH Scott badge on something that has no glass inside it. I know they made them, but it seems wrong.

i'd guess dying caps or maybe some odd internal oscillation problem that is drawing them down rapidly. dead zoebel network parts might be either causal or symptomatic.

Are the 3.8 head gaskets designed with some specific and non-obvious orientation? The 302 gaskets are. They fit either way, but if you put them on backwards it blocks a coolant passage and you have overheating problems.

100.5 or something right around there. It was just a teeny bit over the cap's 100v rating. I want to say at full crank on both channels it was down around 85 volts. My load resistors can't handle that level of power for an extended amount of time, so it was a fairly short duration test.

Fred's "my wife thinks I'm crazy" 700B conversion

I'm more of a pessimist. I've lived inside my head for a lot of years. I always inspect things and test them twice before calling it good. I know I'm prone to missing things on occasion and making it a point to double check myself has saved me a lot of time and money over the years. Of...

yeah. lots of variables. Either way, if it performs better, it is better yeah?

maybe less DC resistance in the secondary, or just better coupling to the primary since there are more turns. Is the physical size the same? If its got more iron for 50 hz duty, you'll get slightly better efficiency out of that too.

hmm, from that info it makes me wonder if thats not a 96+ piston with the higher wrist pin location on the older rotating assembly.

Oil on the (downward slide) upward climb...

hybrids have a very long payoff period. The car is usually used up by the time you break even between additional cost of purchase and fuel savings. If you get fuel savings. They are only better in town. Full electric has seriously limited range. They're also kind of expensive...

So do 5 of the 6 pistons come up flush with the deck, or does only one come up flush and the other 5 are below deck a bit? I'd expect them to be slightly below deck height if its typical with other Ford motors. The one thats up flush looks like its had a lot of detonation issues, which would go...
